Man charged with murder of Easington grandad Mark Davison

A man has been charged with murder after the death of grandad Mark Davison in 2022.

Mr Davison, 59, from Easington, died following an alleged incident in May last year.

Emergency services were called to Gainford Street area of York Road, Hartlepool, on Friday, May 27, 2022, at around 2.10pm.

Despite receiving medical treatment from paramedics, Mr Davison was pronounced dead at the scene.

Today, October 23, 2022, Cleveland Police have confirmed a 47-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with the incident.

The man is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on October 24, 2023.

A 46-year-old woman previously arrested in connection with the incident was released with no further action.

In a tribute issued shortly after Mr Davison's death, his family said: “Mark was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed.

"He is in the thoughts and prayers of his family and friends in the UK and in Gambia.”

“They added that Mark was “ a larger than life character who was taken too soon.”
