Man arrested in Sunderland on suspicion of meeting a girl following grooming

A man has been arrested in Sunderland by police on suspicion of grooming a girl after he was confronted by the Guardians of the North.

The group said the man was in Southwick following its own inquiries when its members called in police to investigate.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “On Sunday evening we arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of meeting an under-age girl following grooming.
