Man appears in court charged with GBH in connection with Roker Avenue attack

A man has been remanded in custody after he faced three charges following an alleged assault on a 23-year-old victim in Roker Avenue on Thursday, April 8.

Chris Bezuidenhout, 33, of no fixed abode appeared before South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on, Monday, April 12.

The 33-year-old is charged with wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm, possessing a bladed article and intimidation of a person assisting an investigation.

The court remanded him in custody and adjourned the case until Monday, May 10, when it will go before Newcastle Crown Court.
