Investigation underway after thieves burgle home during the night

Cash was snatched by burglars as they targeted a house during the night.

The home, in Hampshire Place, off Franklyn Road in Peterlee, was broken into on Monday, October 26, with Durham Constabulary carrying out inquiries.

A force spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a burglary at a house in Hampshire Place, Peterlee, which occurred overnight on Monday, October 26.

“A quantity of cash was taken.

“Inquiries are ongoing.”
