During a Neigbourhood Police Team patrol in various anti-social behaviour hotspots throughout Peterlee town centre and the surrounding area, PCSOs discovered a group of youths suspected of causing ASB in and around the Oakerside Drive area.

PSCOs, who were on patrol on E-Bikes, spoke to and obtained details from the youths who will be spoken to again in the company of their parents as an investigation is launched.

A Durham Constabulary spokesman said: “The team currently have two E-Bikes which are used on a regular basis to conduct patrols, with the added benefit that they can go where vehicles can't, at a much greater speed than on foot.“Your Neighbourhood team will continue to patrol identified ASB hotspots throughout the winter months, utilising our E-Bikes to pay particular attention to those areas which are hard to reach on foot.”
