Girl, 16, fights for life after being thrown from car bonnet in Seaburn Morrisons car park

The incident took place at around 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 24 when the girl was thrown from the bonnet of a Fiat 500, leaving her with serious head injuries.
Paramedics attended the scene and the girl was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary where she remains in a critical condition.

Hide AdTwo females, aged 16 and 18, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and have since been released on bail.
Police believe that all parties are known to each other and are keen to establish the circumstances surrounding what happened.
Sergeant Dave Roberts, of Northumbria Police’s Operations Department, is leading the investigation and has now appealed for witnesses to come forward.
He said: “This is clearly an awful incident and has left a 16-year-old girl with serious head injuries.

“This happened in a busy supermarket car park so we believe people will have been nearby and potentially witnessed what happened. I’m asking those people to do the right thing and pick up the phone today.
