Do you know them? Police plea to trace 15 men after 'violent disorder' at protests

The force has so far made 44 arrests after violent disorder erupted in Newcastle, following protests in the city.

Operation Travis was set up following demonstrations on Saturday, June 13.

Two previous appeals to identify individuals who may be able to help with the investigation resulted in a number of leads.

Now the force is again asking for help, as it believes those who feature in the latest set of images may too be able to assist with inquiries.

Assistant Chief Constable Scott Hall said: “The public response to our appeals has been fantastic and has led to us identifying a number of people we needed to speak to.

“Our investigation is very much ongoing and we are again asking for your help – if you recognise anyone pictured in the latest set of images please do get in touch with us.”

He added: “The right to lawful protest is a key part of any democracy which the police will uphold and facilitate. However, violence and disorder is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”

As part of the ongoing investigation, 43 men and one woman, aged between 15 and 62, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. They have all either been released under investigation or on bail.

When doing so, please quote incident log 238 130620– and reference the code on the picture.
