Do you know him? Appeal to find man in Peterlee who stole a bike from outside Sainsbury's

Police officers have launched a search for a man after he rode away on someone else’s push bike outside Sainsbury’s in Peterlee on Boxing Day.

At around 3pm on Thursday, December 26, 2019 a man was spotted at the Sainsbury's store on Grampian Drive in Peterlee.

Shortly after his arrival, two young men went into the shop and left a push bike outside. The first man has then been seen leaving the store, taking the bike and riding away on it.

Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and Peterlee Police has posted a photo of the man entering the shop on its Facebook page.

Officers are appealing to the public for their help in locating him and have asked those who have any information or who recognise the man to contact them.

The post said: “If anyone recognises the male please report via 101 quoting CRI00241520 or private message on Facebook.”
