Destroying a Christmas tree and other recent Sunderland court cases

Liam Pickford, 30, of Sedgeletch Road, Houghton, was banned from driving for two months and ordered to pay a £120 fine, £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting failing to report an accident on June 13.

Robert Armstrong, 39, of Ryhope Street South, Sunderland, received an eight-week jail term, which was suspended for 18 months, and was ordered to pay £2,000 compensation after admitting causing £2,000 of criminal damage, including destroying a TV, fridge freezer and Christmas tree, on November 23.

Gareth Chipp, 37, of Carlisle Terrace, Southwick, Sunderland, was placed on a community order and ordered to pay £175 compensation, a £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting committing assault on December 1, 2019.

Liam Dennison, 44, of Barclay Street, Sunderland, received a six-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a £22 victim surcharge after admitting failing to surrender to custody on December 7.

David Vincent, 46, of no fixed address, was placed on a community order, fined £40 and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge after admitting three counts of breaching a restraining order in Sunderland and one charge of failing to surrender to custody between November 17-December 8.

Paul Christopher McIver, 41, of Edwin Street, Houghton, was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting being drunk and disorderly on November 26.

Lisa Ann Keys, 52, of Forest Drive, Washington, was banned from driving for 17 months and ordered to pay a £184 fine, £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting drink driving on November 27.
