The case was heard at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court.

He will be sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court after magistrates told him their sentencing powers were insufficient for his crimes.

Amrit Jandoo, defending, said: “This is a high speed police chase on the A690.

“The vehicle has been brought to a stop by the defendant losing control.

“The matters are not suitable for your jurisdiction and should be committed to the crown court in due course.”

Magistrates adjourned the case for reports and Gooch was granted unconditional bail to attend the crown court for sentencing on Friday, August 14.
