The following cases from the Sunderland area were dealt with recently at magistrates’ court:

Matthew Mason, 27, of Clarence Street, Durham, was fined £220 and ordered to pay compensation of £86.45 for travelling by train without a ticket.

Nedhi Basudev Chera, 43, of Ravine Terrace Sunderland, was fined £379 with six penalty points for failure to identify a driver.

Lee William Gilbert, 39, of Bowood Close, Sunderland, was fined £100 with three penalty points for speeding.

Allan Watson, 41, of Finchale, Washington, was fined £716 with six penalty points for speeding.

Klement Beqiri, 40, of Avondale, Sunderland, was fined £369 and banned from driving for six months for driving without a valid licence and using a vehicle without insurance.

Jay Dolden, 52, of The Avenue, Ashbrooke, Sunderland, was fined a total of £686 and banned from driving for six months for using a vehicle without insurance and failure to identify a driver.

Michael Robert Hayes, 32, of Northlands, Chester-le-Street, was fined £100 with three penalty points for speeding.
