CCTV appeal after booze stolen in raid on Sunderland shop

Officers are appealing for help to track down a man they want to speak to in connection with a burglary at a shop in Sunderland.

Police were called to the Broadway Co-op on Springwell Road around 2.30am on Tuesday, April 20 following reports of a break in.

An investigation was launched after thieves smashed their way into the store and stole a quantity of alcohol before driving off in a white Transit-style van.

Officers are now working to identify those responsible.

Police have identified one man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident who was seen in the area at the time of the break-in and could have valuable information that could assist the investigation.

The force is now asking the man, or anyone who recognises him, to contact them via the ‘Tell us Something’ page of their website or by calling 101 quoting log 66 200421.
