Assault, drug possession, drink driving and other recent Sunderland court cases

The following cases from the Sunderland area were dealt with recently at South Northumbria Magistrates’ Court, which sits at Sunderland and South Shields:

Keith Charles Murray, 57, of Hoylake Square, Sunderland, was fined £20 after he admitted failing to comply with a community order on October 15.

Sean Jason Lister, 50, of St Cuthbert’s Terrace, Sunderland, was ordered to pay a £40 fine, £50 compensation, £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting assault on September 20.

David Elliott, 38, of Laygate, South Shields, was placed on a community order and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Sunderland on July 1.

Kane Walters, 19, of Ingleby Terrace, Sunderland, was banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay a £240 fine, £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting drink driving on September 8.

Nichola Wright, 31, of Waterloo Walk, Sulgrave, Washington, was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting possessing a class C drug on December 13.

James Packer, 30, of Grasmere Crescent, Sunderland, was banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay a £650 fine, £65 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting two counts of drug driving in Boldon on July 8.

Brett Chapman, 26, of Bede House, Sunderland, was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay a £346 fine, £35 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting drink driving on December 13.
