There was almost a last-gasp defeat for Pools who were relieved to see Sonny Bradley's header with the final play of the game go wide from just a few yards.

Pools had gone close themselves 11 minutes into the second half when keeper Paul Jones saved a Nathan Thomas shot onto the bar.

“They could have scored with that last header, so I'll take a point," said the manager.

“The ball come across and I thought 'here we go' but the luck went our way and maybe it’s changing?

“The way we went about it in the second half we could have won it.

“Nathan went close, but that's four unbeaten now, two clean sheets in a row and I'm proud of the lads..

“They put us under pressure last ten, we dug in and got a point."
