Court round-up: Booze thefts, assault and threats among cases dealt with in Sunderland

George Johnston, 32, of Ormonde Street, Barnes, Sunderland, admitted assaulting a man on June 26. He was fined £80 and was told to pay compensation of £60, a surcharge to fund victim services of £30 and costs of £85. A restraining order was made.

John Knox, 27, of Chopwell Gardens, Wrekenton, Gateshead, admitted stealing two bottles of Smirnoff vodka, to the value of £30, from Asda in Washington, on October 21. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and was told to pay compensation of £30, a surcharge to fund victim services of £20 and costs of £85.

Nathen TYye, 18, of York Street, Sunderland, admitted using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour, causing harassment alarm or distress. He was fined £166 and was told to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £30 and costs of £85.

Ryan Hall, 22, of Wildbriar, Washington, was handed a suspended prison sentence of 20 days for non-payment of fines, on the condition that he pays £569 by £8 monthly instalments, from January 2.

Tyler Burton, 22, of Edwin Street, Pallion, Sunderland, admitted driving a Kia Picanto on Wessington Way, whilst unfit through drugs, on June 24.

He was sentenced to a 12-month community order, with nine months’ drug treatment and up to 15 days’ specified activity and was fined £100, with a surcharge to fund victim services of £85 and costs of £85. He was also disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months

Patrick Duggan, 20, of Mariner Square, Hendon, Sunderland, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Rosedale Street, on October 8. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and was told to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £20.

Darren Stokoe, 24, of Westgate Road, Newcastle, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Holmeside, in October 15. He was fined £60 and was told to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £30 and costs of £85.

Jason Stokoe, 25, of Azalea Terrace South, Sunderland, admitted stealing two bottles of aftershave, to the value of £115, from Debenham’s, on august 12. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and was told to pay compensation of £60, a surcharge to fund victim services of £20 and costs of £85.

Kerrie Tiffin, 40, of turner Avenue, South Shields, admitted making threats of criminal damage to a Sunderland woman, on October 15. She was discharged conditionally for six months and was told to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £20.

Anthony Richmondm 30, of Wentworth Terrace, Millfield, Sunderland, admitted stealing alcohol, to the value of £215, from Asda in Pennywell, on October 11. He was jailed for seven days and was told to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £115.

Mark Dagg, 38, of no fixed address, admitted stealing a Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor, to the value of £27, from Wilko, on November 4. He was jailed for 21 days and was told to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £115.
