The alleged driver of the car has been interviewed by police.

At a review into Karl’s inquest, held at the Coroner’s Court in Crook, coroner Andrew Tweddle said there was still no word from police on whether anyone would be charged over the crash.

He adjourned the case to March 21 and said: “If we don’t have any answer by then, I will require written representation from the senior officer involved, explaining in detail the reasons for what would by then be a considerable delay.”

Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
