Coastal rescue teams called out to a boat taking on water in the River Wear
and live on Freeview channel 276
Sunderland Coastguard were out on patrol at around 2pm on Saturday, June 19, when they were tasked to broken down boat that was taking on water on the River Wear.
Sunderland RNLI crews were tasked to the scene to pump water from the stricken vessel by using a salvage pump before towing the boat to the Potato Garth slipway.

Hide AdOnce back to the shore, coastguard officers assisted in the recovery and provided safety advice.
A Sunderland Coastguard spokesperson said: “Whilst on local area patrol we were tasked to a boat that had broken down and was taking on water on the River Wear.
“RNLI - Sunderland Lifeboat Station were also tasked and pumped the water from the vessel using a salvage pump before towing the vessel to the Potato Garth slipway where it was met by Coastguard Officers who assisted in recovery and provided safety advice.”
