Cleadon - Down Your Way

Cleadon Village History Society meets tonight in the Old Schoolroom, next to All Saints' parish hall, at 7.15pm. Bernard Hope will be speaking about a local man, Eddie Chapman, who possibly worked as a double secret agent during the war. There will be light refreshments.

The first session of this year’s Lent course – Another Story Must Begin – takes place this afternoon at 1.30pm and tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Chapter House, next to All Saints’ Church. It is based on the film “Les Miserables” and everyone is welcome.

There will be a Paddy’s Market in All Saints’ parish hall on Friday from 10am-1pm. Entry is free and there will be lots of bargains in second-hand clothes for men, women and children, toys, books, DVDs and bric-a-brac.

On Saturday, there will be an afternoon tea and Bible Auction in Cleadon Methodist Church hall at 3pm. The auction involves items which have some connection with the Bibl. Entry is £3.50 by ticket or pay at the door.

On Monday at 7.30pm, the Men’s Fellowship will meet in the Committee Room of All Saints’ parish hall. New members are welcome.

A Weight Watchers class is held on Mondays at 6.30pm in Cleadon Village Primary Academy in Boldon Lane.

Beginners’ classes in Pilates are held on Mondays from 7.15pm until 8.15pm in All Saints’ parish hall. For further information, ring 5192063.

T’ai Chi Qigong is a calm movement class for beginners. Held on Wednesdays from 10.45am-11.45am in All Saints’ parish hall. It improves breathing, balance and energy. Ring Ros on 07891 419006.
