Cleadon - Down Your Way

Session 4 of the Lent Course, Another Story Must Begin, takes place today at 1.30pm and tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Chapter House, next to All Saints' Church. The course is based on the musical film Les Miserables, and helps to explore the faith and how we can respond to it.

The Married Couples group of All Saints’ Church meets on Monday at 7.30pm. The speaker will be Margaret Wright.

Cleadon Village History Society meets next Tuesday, March 22, in the Old Schoolroom, next to the parish hall, at 7.15pm. The speaker will be Craig Fitzakerly with his Grand Designs III.

The Jarrow with Harton Rotary Club is holding a pie and peas supper in All Saints’ parish hall next Tuesday, March 22, at 7pm. There will be entertainment from The Beacon Band, and a raffle. Tickets, at £6, are available from 5362879.

Compass Acapella with Tyneside Acapella will be performing in All Saints’ parish hall on Tuesday, April 5, at 7.30pm. Both the men’s choir and the ladies’ choir sing songs in close harmony. Tickets are on sale at £5, which includes refreshments, from 5363346.

Slimming World now holds two classes in All Saints’ parish hall on Thursdays at 9.30am and at 11.30am.

Georgia Maughan, who attends South Shields Community School Karate Club, recently represent the club in the NKA friendly competiton. Georgia had a great day and walked away with a 4th place individual kata and a 3rd place for team kumite. The club meets on a Monday from 5pm-6pm at the school. Soup and roll lunches are available every Tuesday in All Saints’ parish hall from 11.45am-1.15pm. There is a choice of soup with a roll followed by tea or coffee with homemade cake for £3. Anyone passing by on a walk or car journey, as well as regular clientele, are all welcome, and proceeds during Lent will be given to Christian Aid.
