Cleadon - Down Your Way

The Thursday Club will meet this week at 1.30pm in the Old Schoolroom next to the parish hall. This is a group of retired people who enjoy socialising with interesting speakers, demonstrations and outings. New friends are welcome.

A coffee morning will be held on Saturday from 10.30am to noon in All Saints’ parish hall in aid of The Children’s Society. There will be a bring-and-buy stall and a raffle with plenty of coffee or tea, scones and biscuits and people to enjoy a chat with.

On Monday, New Cleadon WI will meet in Cleadon Methodist Church hall at 7pm. The guest speaker this month will be Sharon Vincent on the Mitford sisters. Visitors are always welcome.

Cleadon WI will meet at 6.30pm on Tuesday, September 13, in All Saints’ parish hall.

The Friday Lunch Club meets in All Saints’ parish hall on September 16 at 11.30am for coffee followed by a two-course meal at 12.30pm. Transport can be available, ring 5190582 if you would like to go along.

The Friends of All Saints’ are organising a coach outing to Whalton Village Show on Saturday, September 17, leaving from the Britannia Inn at 10am.

A 17-track CD has been produced incorporating pieces from local individuals, groups and schools. The CD is being sold for £5 and the proceeds will go towards Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign. This campaign has been going on for some years and now there are only two countries in the world with endemic polio. For more information about the campaign or the music, phone 5369807.
