Cleadon - Down Your Way

There will be a meeting of members of the PCC for All Saints' Church tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Chapter House.

On Saturday, for one night only, Hands-On NE presents a new comedy, Signals, by David Farn and directed by Dolores Porretta-Brown, at 7.30pm in the Little Theatre in Boldon Lane. This is an amusing story of how four people’s lives entwine and how they communicate. Tickets are £6.50 from the business manager on 4470493.

On Monday, Compass Acapella, the Cleadon-based men’s singing group, will be taking part in a Christmas Concert with Tyneside Acapella, in the Little Theatre in Saltwell View, Gateshead, at 7.30pm. After last year’s very successful concert, the theatre is helping to raise funds for FACT (Fighting All Cancers Together) and tickets are available at the theatre.

The Men’s Fellowship of All Saints’ Church meets on Monday in the Committee Room of the parish hall at 7.30pm. New members are very welcome to attend.

On Sunday, December 4, there will be a Christingle service in All Saints’ Church at 4pm. Candle collection boxes are available to fill ready to present at the service for the Church of England Children’s Society.

On Tuesday, December 6, at 7.30pm, the Customs House Big Band will once again be entertaining with its Christmas Concert in All Saints’ parish hall. The band has been playing to capacity audiences for some years now and its programme will include its usual jazz style some Christmas music with vocals by Ruth Lambert. Admission is by ticket only and these are available at £5, which includes interval refreshments, from 536 3346.

All Saints’ Church is holding its Christmas coffee morning with family festive fun in the parish hall and Old Schoolroom on Saturday, December 10, from 10am to 1pm. There will be Christmas gifts, a cake stall, the choir of Cleadon Village Primary Academy, chocolate tombola and wine and spirit draws, children’s activities including cookie making and decorating and face-painting and the draw will take place at 1pm. Tickets for the draw at 50p are available now from members of the congregation. Get yours early for the chance of a £100 first prize and many other valuable prizes donated by your favourite village stores.

A Weight Watchers class takes place in Cleadon Village Primary Academy in Boldon Lane every Monday at 6.30pm.

Lingo Kids provides French classes for children from reception class to Year 6 in the Old Schoolroom, next to All Saints’ parish hall every Wednesday in term-time. Give Julia a ring on 07454383249 if you would like more information.
