Charity floored by donation from stores
Staff from the company’s 25 stores, including the one at Roker Avenue, Sunderland, and those in Grange Road, Jarrow, and King Street, South Shields, chose Macmillan as their charity and have taken part in a year of fundraising activities, including a fancy dress day.

Hide AdGenerous donations from staff, customers and suppliers brought in more than £8,000, which was trebled by Frank’s to make £25,000.
The cash has now been handed over to Michelle Muir, senior fundraising manager for Macmillan in County Durham.

Hide Ad“This is the second year we’ve run a fundraising drive for Macmillan, raising £16,000 the first time and now more than £25,000.
“Our customers and suppliers have really supported our staff to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan.
“It’s always difficult to choose just one charity to support but Macmillan does some amazing work to provide help and support needed by those diagnosed with or affected by cancer.
“Everyone here has either been directly affected by cancer or knows someone who has been, so to hand over a significant sum of money to such a deserving cause is fantastic.”
