At about 12.30am on Saturday, January 7, police received a report of an argument between a group of men and a group of women at the Illegitimate bar in the Bigg Market, Newcastle.

The two groups had got into an argument and glass bottles were thrown across the bar.

Police attended, but both groups had left the area. It is not believed anyone was injured during the incident.

Inquiries to identify those involved are ongoing, and Northumbria Police today released images of five men and three women they want to trace in relation to the incident.

They were in the bar at the time and may be able to help officers with their investigation.

The people in the pictures, or anyone who knows who they are, are asked to call police on 101, quoting log 138 08/01/17, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
