Caring doctor nominated for Sunderland Echo Health Award

Dr Chris Scott-Batey, 36, has been nominated for GP of the Year by patients at Herrington Medical Centre.

Dr Scott-Batey, who has been at the practice on Philadelphia Lane for two years, said he was pleased to be nominated.

The father-of-one said: “I always try to have a positive relationship with patients. You don’t always get feedback, so it is nice to hear.

“It is nice to make a difference to people’s lives and to make people feel better.

Patients said of Dr Scott-Batey: “He is a very understanding doctor who listens and helps in the best way he can.

“He is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable talking about any problems.”

The deadline for nominations is March 21, and the very best will make it to our grand final at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on April 14.
