The four-piece are already due to perform at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle on Wednesday, January 30 next year.

Now, due to 'phenomenal demand' for tickets, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, Ronan Keating, and Shane Lynch have added a second date, on Wednesday, February 13.

After six UK No. 1 singles, five chart-topping UK albums and 25 years together, Boyzone are releasing their final album, Thank You & Goodnight, on November 16.

They are calling the tour which accompanies it “one final celebration of 25 years of Boyzone and our journey together”.

Four of their arena shows have sold out months in advance, while ticket sales are also strong for the rest of the tour’s dates.

Today they announced seven extra shows, including the one in Newcastle.

They launched the album by sharing a special tribute to the fifth member of the band, the late Stephen Gately, in the shape of I Can Dream, which they reworked after finding a demo he recorded for a solo album.

Most recently, they released Because, which was written by their friend Ed Sheeran. It’s an emotive and dramatic love song which finds Boyzone at their anthemic arena-filling best.

The farewell album finds Boyzone collaborating with another special guest songwriter, Take That's Gary Barlow, on Love.

Tickets for the new Newcastle date will go on sale at 9am on Monday, September 10, online and from the booking hotline number 0844 493 6666, or from 11am in person at the box office.
