Bowlers lead Durham Under-15s to third win out of three

Durham Under-15s top Group 1B in the ECB County Cup after a third win out of three.

They beat Lincolnshire by 21 runs at Barton Town CC on a day of 20 wickets.

Durham won the toss and opted to bat, with opener Harry Crawshaw firing 41, with four boundaries, to help the visitors to 207 all out in 45.3 overs.

Ben Scott added 15 and Jack Hutchinson 38, with four fours, before James Garraghan (16no) and Ben Pentland (18) put on 39 for the final wicket.

Rishabh Gupta was the pick of the bowlers, snatching 4-36.

Openers Ravi Yarwood-Paintall (37) and Ollie Caswell (24) gave Lincolnshire a good start, and Antony McCready added 42, but they were dismissed for 186 in 43.5 overs.

Will Barnham was the top Durham bowler, taking 4-26, backed by Garraghan (3-42), Ben Pentland (1-25) and Crawshaw (1-19).

Durham Under-12s lost their friendly at Eppleton by 44 runs to Yorkshire’s B team.

Noah Chapman and Billy Armistead put on 124 for the first wicket before both fell for 50 as Yorkshire reached 195-8 in 40 overs.

Bede Knox impressed with the ball for Durham, taking 4-32, backed by Patrick Nicholson (2-27) and Owen Hayton (1-19).

In their reply, six Durham players got starts but could not force a victory, with the total well short on 151-9.

Timon Basu top-scored with 22, supported by Louis Anderson (19), Charlie Coulthard (18), Sebastian Hughes-Pinan (16), Mason Bell (14) and Burgess (12).
