In her talk entitled ’50 years in Boldon’, through photographs and her local knowledge of East Boldon village, she was able to turn the clock back for members and remind them of how the village looked in the early part of the 20th century and changes in recent years. At the next meeting on Tuesday, August 30, Walter Carr will give his talk on ‘Old South Shields’. In August the group will meet back in the function room of The Grey Horse on Front Street, East Boldon, their usual meeting place, which was closed last month for refurbishment.
