Earlier this year Mrs Moir and three students left for a four-week adventure to Borneo. They have worked tirelessly to raise the funds through bag packs, coffee mornings, car boot sales and much more. The visit included community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation. The students also had a once in a lifetime experience of scuba diving next to the island Mantanani. The expedition enabled students to acquire and develop skills such as teamwork, multitasking, taking initiative, patience and how to become more reliable and self-sufficient. They worked hard in the communities to make a difference to the lives of those less fortunate while also gaining an understanding of other cultures. They were also given the opportunity to assist with an ongoing wildlife conservation programme to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats.
