Ben & Jerry’s invites public to celebrate launch of new ice cream flavour
People are invited to come together to celebrate the launch of Ben & Jerry’s new ice cream flavour.
The special community event will take place on Monday, October 26 from 11am until 3pm at Lambton Street Youth and Community Hub, in Sunderland.

Created in partnership with six refugee entrepreneurs through Ben & Jerry’s ice cream design challenge, Love Nut Hate combines sweet cream ice cream, pistachio swirls and crunchy pastry pieces.
The free family-friendly event will bring together local residents, community groups and voluntary organisations to celebrate the values that unite Sunderland's communities.
Visitors will be able to enjoy complimentary ice cream, children’s activities, creative arts sessions and opportunities to connect with organisations working to make Sunderland a welcoming and supportive place for all.
Janette Hilton , chief executive of voluntary and community action Sunderland (VCAS), said: "Sunderland is full of people who show kindness, compassion and support for their neighbours every day.
“The message behind Love Nut Hate is a simple but powerful one, and we're delighted to celebrate it with local families, community groups and partners.”
Mathilda Della Torre, UK activism manager at Ben & Jerry's, said : "We are delighted to be joining VCAS and other local community groups in Sunderland to celebrate our new flavour Love Nut Hate.
“Love Nut Hate is a way into a bigger conversation about how we resist fear and division by building strong, connected communities where everyone can belong, participate and thrive.
“We want this flavour to invite all of us to support the people and organisations like VCAS, already strengthening their communities, so it is an honour to be part of this event."
