The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight has been cancelled at today's opening night of the Sunderland International Airshow - due to the bad weather.
The Lancaster bomber and Spitfire and Hurricane fighters were due to do a 20-minute display from 6.05pm.
But at 2.20pm today the event's official Twitter account made an announcement which will disappoint thousands of visitors.
It said: "Flying announcement - @RAFBBMF have cancelled their display for TODAY due to forecast weather conditions in their home base and here.
"At the moment, tomorrow’s display will go ahead as planned."
A second Tweet said: "BBMF only have cancelled for today. Everything this else is still planned. However, we will await further weather updates later in the day."
Tomorrow’s display will go ahead as planned.
