Sunderland Cardiac Support Group’s monthly meeting will take place in The Education Centre, Sunderland Royal Hospital, on Thursday at 6.45pm. Bernard Hope will be the guest speaker with an illustrated talk on Eddie Chapman – Safe Cracker and Double Agent.

The ladies from Tavistock Townswomen’s Guild joined members from Broadway Townswomen’s Guild on a cold January day for afternoon tea at Crumb On In, a lovely eaterie in a furniture store in Holmeside. Broadway Townswomen;s Guild regular meeting is held on the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm in Grindon Community Centre, Cortina Avenue, High Barnes.

Auditions will be held at The Royalty Theatre on Friday, March 4, at 7.30pm for the forthcoming production of Steel Magnolias, which will be staged from May 16 to 21.

St Gabriel’s Church coffee morning will be held on Saturday from 10.30am to noon and is in aid of church funds. Coffee and scone will be £1. There will also be a cake stall and raffle. Go along and enjoy the fellowship. All are welcome. Wear something red to celebrate the eve of Valentine’s Day.

Cliff Banks will be the guest speaker when Ewesley Road Ladies’ Fellowship meet tomorrow at 7.30pm. Photographs to Music is the theme of the evening

Sunderland Ladies’ Probus Club will meet on Thursday, February 25, in St John’s Church, Ashbrooke. Elaine Harbron will be the guest speaker and the title of her talk is Community IT.’Coffee will be served at 10am and the meeting begins at 10.30am.

Soup and Socks will be held at St Nicholas Church hall on Saturday at 12.30pm.

Broadway Guild meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm in Grindon Community Centre, Cortina Avenue, High Barnes.

Sunderland Aglow will meet in The Rosedene on Wednesday, February 17, at 7pm, when the speaker will be Alison Hilton. Meal will cost £9, to book contact Ardyn on 0191 5285953 or 07716956729

Sunderland Cardiac Support Group holds exercise classes for you and your partner/carer at Bede Tower, Burdon Road, near the Civic Centre. The classes are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday from 10am to 11am and 11.15am to 12.15pm and are done in a relaxed atmosphere and at your own pace

A coffee and cake day will be held at Sunderland Minster on Saturday from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Enjoy a coffee and homemade cakes and scones or take some home. The Minster shop will also be having a clearance sale.

Tea and bingo will be at St Mary Magdalene’s Parish Centre, Wilson Street on Saturday starting at 1.30pm.

Tonight at 7pm a pancake party will be held at St Mary Magdalene’s Parish Centre, Wilson Street. Tickets are £3.50.

Lent lunches take place in The Haver Hall of St Nicholas Church on February 20 and 27 and March 5 and 19, all at 12.30pm. Cost is £3, which includes a choice of soup, bread, homemade cake and tea orcoffee. Everyone is very welcome. Half the money raised goes towards a chosen charity and half to church

funds.
