St Nicholas Wednesday Brownies have been working towards achieving The Number Fun Badge alongside a team from Explore Learning. They designed and costed a new bedroom and found out about Roman Numerals and Money To Plan A Banquet For An Emperor. The girls also had fun creating portraits of themselves using numbers to create the features of their face.

Sunderland Branch of Save The Children held a Fundraising Family Fun Day at The Sunderland Bangladeshi Centre, Tatham Street, which proved very popular.

Sunderland Floral Art Club will meet on Tuesday, May 17, at 2pm in The Royalty Theatre. John Dalton, from Scaleby near Carlisle, will be the guest demonstrator and the title of his demonstration is What A Wonderful World.

Ewesley Road Ladies’ Fellowship will meet for a Devotional tomorrow at 7.30pm.

As We Were, Sunderland 1929-1980s is the title of a film to be presented by Brian Ibinson at the next meeting of Sunderland Men’s Probus Club in Ashbrooke Sports Pavilion on Wednesday, May 25, at 10.30am. Visitors are welcome and there is no charge. The club’s annual bus outing will take place on Wednesday, June 15. Members will going to Whitby.

On Sunday at 6.30pm St Gabriel’s Church is holding its annual Lifelong Learning Service. This short service is to celebrate Lifelong Learning in all its fullness. It will be followed by light refreshments.

The next meeting of the Eden Vale Residents’ Association will be at Richard Avenue Primary School today from 6.30pm-8pm. All are welcome to go along and discuss any matters concerning the community with fellow residents, officials from Sunderland City Council and the police. Sunderland Cardiac Support Group monthly meeting will be on Thursday at 6.45pm in The Education Centre, Sunderland Royal Hospital. This will be the AGM with reports for 2015/16 and Election of Trustees and Officers.

Greyforce Computer Club meets in Pallion Action Group on Tuesdays from 12.30pm-3.30pm. New members are very welcome. Free tuition is given on manitaining your computer, how to use emails and learning to use the internet. If you are interested just go along.

Messy church is be held in St Nicholas Church on the third Sundy of every month at 3pm. Children must bring along an adult.

On Saturday a Soup and Socks event will be held at St Nicholas Church from 12.30pm-1.30pm.

The Church of The Nazarene, Westbury Street, has lots of activities going on. Starting with a Sunday Evening service from 6pm-7.30pm. Then on Monday there is tea and toast from 10am-noon. On Tuesday it is ladies night with knit and natter, also men’s night with pool and games, both these sessions are from 7pm-9pm. Wednesday it’s card craft from 10am-noon, followed from 7.30pm-9pm with Bible Study. Toddlers meet on Thursdays from 10am-noon. All are welcome.

Go along and support one of the biggest organ recital series in the North East at Sunderland Minster on Saturday, May 21, when Tom Honeyman (Sunderland Minster) will be playing. The event starts at 1pm and lasts 50 minutes. Entry is free and there will be a big screen view.

Money raised by Lent Lunches at St Nicholas Church comes to £410.55. Half of this has gone to The Alzheimer’s Society, which is the chosen charity this year

St Gabriel’s Church coffee morning will be held on Saturday from 10.30am-noon and is in aid of St Gabriel’s Church. Coffee and scone is £1. There will also be a cake stall and raffle.

On Saturday, May 21, there will be tea and bingo at The Church of The Good Shepherd, Forest Road. This event starts at 2pm.
