A pyschic night held at The Chesters Pub proved a very successful evening. More are planned for the future. Sara organised the event.

Members of Sunderland Townswomen’s Federation enjoyed a great day at The Sunderland Bowling Alley, High Street. It was good fun and a good laugh.

Sunderland Minster’s Vintage and Craft Fayre will be held on Saturday from 10am to 3pm. There will be lots of stalls selling hand crafted items, jewellery, scarves, handbags, gifts, greetings cards and gift bags Refreshments will be available. Admission is 50p for adults and children free.

St Luke’s Church, Pallion, will hold its summer fair on Saturday at 2pm in the large church hall. Entry is free. There will be tea, coffee, raffle, tombola, bottle stall, bric-a-brac, bathroom stall, jewellery, books and DVDs.

Eden Vale Residents’ Association is holding its next meeting on Tuesday, July 5, from 6.30pm to 8pm at Richard Avenue Primary School. This is your opportunity to discuss with fellow residents, issues affecting you in the community. The meeting will include a presentation by the Community Helpers and The Speedwatch Team, which will be seeking new volunteers.

Anthony Hindmarsh will be guest speaker at Ewesley Road Ladies’ Fellowship meeting tomorrow at 7.30pm. Anthony will give a talk on Sunderland in the First World War.

St Gabriel’s Church coffee morning will be held on Saturday, July 16, from 10.30am to noon and will be in aid of The Northern Branch of Cancer Research UK. Coffee and scone will be £1. There will also t be a cake stall and raffle.

Millfield Residents’ Association will hold its next meeting tomorrow at 6.30pm in St Mark’s Church Community Association. Residents are welcome to go along to share their views with local councillors and the Community Policing Team. A presentation will also be given by Andrew McGuinness, from Nexus.

Arthritis Care Sunderland Branch will meet in The Education Centre, Sunderland Royal Hospital, on Wednesday, July 6, from 6pm to 8pm. Giving a talk at the meeting will be members of the fire brigade.

Ewesley Road WI will meet in The Enid Dagg Room of the Church on Wednesday, July 6, at 2.15pm. Speaker will be Marjorie Goodchild with a Cookery Demonstration. Stall will be bottles, jars and cans. Competition will be Guesstimate, and there will be tea hostesses.

Tarantara is a mixed choir, comprising over 50 enthusiastic singers whose aim is to enjoy performing a mixed repertoire of music to the highest standard. The choir was formed in 2003 and is a registered charity. Tarantara is regularly invited to perform its concerts to organisations and charities at venues across Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, helping local charities and communities raise money for good causes. The choir is to visit the North East next month and will perform at Sunderland Minster on Saturday, July 16, at 7.30pm. For ticket, contact 0191 5654066. Tickets cost £10 and concessions £8.

St Mark’s Community Association holds it’s AGM on Thursday, July 14, at 7pm. Why not go and have a look at the new facility. There ill be lots going on, including a weekly fitness programme. On Tuesdays, Millfield Toddlers meet from 9.30am to 11.30am. New Community Fitness Room is £5 per year membership and £1 a session. On Mondays the Pre-Teen Club, for seven to 11-year-olds meet from 4.45pm to 6.45pm and on Wednesdays the Kids Club, for the under 10s, meets from 5,30pm to 7pm. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Youth sessions for those aged 11 and over will be from 5.15pm to 7.15pm. On Sundays there is Karate from 5pm to 6pm. The CA is also looking for a group of friends who would like to start a coffee morning, everything will be done, all members will need to do is turn up. On Saturday,The Church of The Good Shepherd will hold its summer fair. There will be stalls and games for all ages and all sorts of prizes.

Tea and bingo is held in St Mary Magdalene’s Parish Centre, Wilson Street, starting at 1.30pm.
