Band featuring The Jam legend cancel Sunderland gig
From The Jam, featuring the former Jam bassist, were due to perform at The Point, in Holmeside, on August 4 with their The Public Gets What The Public Wants tour.
But the gig has had to be postponed after a band member fell ill.
A spokesman for the venue said: “Unfortunately, due to illness, the From The Jam concert at The Point on August 4th 2016 has been postponed (date to be confirmed).
“We are issuing a full refund for any tickets purchased at The Point’s box office. Any other tickets purchased can be refunded by your ticket provider.
“A complimentary ticket to a replacement gig, held on the same date, will also be given to anyone that has purchased tickets to the From The Jam concert.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
As well as Bruce, From The Jam features vocalist and guitarist Russell Hastings and drummer Mike Randon.
The Jam exploded onto the punk scene in 1977. With a catalogue that includes 18 UK Top 40 singles, The Jam became the sound of British youth and one of the greatest and biggest selling bands in British history.
The Public Gets What The Public Wants Tour features The Jam hits such as Down In The Tube Station At Midnight, Going Underground, Town Called Malice and The Modern World, as well as some live favourites and songs from Bruce’s solo career.
