Arsenal defender on Tyneside for medical ahead of move to Newcastle United
Gamez yesterday signed a two-year deal at St James’s Park after arriving from Atletico Madrid.
The 31-year-old full-back said it was an easy decision to sign and play for “world-class” Rafa Benitez, who has also convinced Dwight Gayle, Matt Ritchie and Matz Sels to sign for the relegated club.

Hide AdAnd Hayden is due to undergo a medical today ahead of a move to the Tynesiders.
The versatile 21-year-old can also play at full-back and as a defensive midfielder.
Hayden has knows the Championship from a season-long loan at Hull City last term.
Meanwhile, Gamez – who had a nine-year first-team career at Malaga before joining Atletico in 2014 – feels he is suited to the demands of English football. “It was not a difficult decision at all,” said Gamez.
