Appeal over stab attack after 18-year-old injured

A teenage boy was left with a stab wound following an incident on an housing estate.

Officers in East Durham are appealing for information after the attack in Peterlee, which left the boy with a stomach injury.

Detective Inspector Andy Smith, of Durham Constabulary, said: “Police are currently investigating after a report of a stabbing was made on Monday, March 6.

“It is believed the incident took place on Saturday, March 4, where an 18-year-old man was assaulted in the Royal Arms area of Peterlee.

“Detectives from Peterlee CID are now carrying out inquiries in to the circumstances of the assault and are asking anyone with information to contact them on 101.”

The area covers the area surrounding the former Royal Arms pub in Yoden Road.
