Appeal for information after house burglary in Sunderland

Police are appealing for witnesses after cash was stolen from a handbag in a burglary in Sunderland.

Northumbria Police say the incident took place on Wednesday, August 16 in Pembroke Avenue.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police are appealing for witnesses following a house burglary in Sunderland.

"It happened on Wednesday, August 16 at 10.27pm at an address in Pembroke Avenue.

"Offenders entered the house and stole a cash inside a handbag before making off unseen.

"Police are appealing for witnesses, and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 099628X/17 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
