A funfair is back in the city – and tonight you can enjoy rides at 1980’s prices.

Nobles Castletown Funfair, which features 40 rides and attractions, is in Riverbank Road, behind Sainsbury’s, until Sunday.

But for one night only, thrill seekers can enjoy the rides for 50p a go.

Colin Noble, managing director at Nobles Funfairs, said: “It’s a great site and is about the size of one-and-a-half football pitches.

“Castletown has proved a popular area for the fair.

“We had one here last year, and over the road near the car wash the year before that.

“We opened at the weekend and had lots of teenagers down on the Friday night and families coming down to enjoy it during the day.

“We decided to do something a bit different tonight and have a 50p night.

“We did it a few years ago, as people remember the rides being that price in the 80s and lots of people came down.”

The fair is open week nights from 5pm to 9pm, on Saturday from 1pm to 9pm and Sunday from 1pm to 6pm.

Usually the prices are £1 entry and £1 a ride, but tonight only it will be £2 entry and 50p a ride.
