A1M reopens after vehicle overturns

A driver suffered minor injuries when his car overturned on a busy Wearside road this afternoon.

Two lanes of the A1M were closed southbound between Junctions 65 and 64 after the accident around 5pm.

Highways England has now Tweeted that the blockage has been cleared and the road reopened.

Northumbria Police have confirmed the driver was not badly hurt.
