A1M reopens after two-vehicle accident
An accident which partially closed the A1M in County Durham has been cleared.
Two lanes of the northbound carriageway were closed between Junction 62 at Carrville and Junction 63 at Chester-le-Street to allow firecrews to work., with traffic passing via the hard shoulder.
Drivers were urged to find an alternative route.
A Durham Constabulary spokeswoman said: "We were called to reports of a two vehicle collision along the A1(M) at Chester-Le-Street at 9.15am this morning.
"There are no injuries and the road has now re-opened."
