Thousands turned out to pay their respects.

Sunderland paid tribute to its fallen with a moving Remembrance Day ceremony yesterday, Sunday, November 12.

Crowds lined the streets as the parade made its way down Burdon Road for the service, before the civic party took the salute on the museum steps in Borough Road.
