This is when Universal Credit, child benefit, PIP payments and other benefits will be paid in May due to the Bank Holiday weekends
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Banks will be closed on the Bank Holiday Weekends of Friday, May 8 and Monday, May 25 meaning payments from the Department for Work and Pensions won’t be processed.
According to Gov.uk if a payment falls on a weekend or Bank Holiday it will usually be paid the day before – but this could differ for benefits such as tax credits and child benefit.
Here’s when each benefit payment will be made in May:

Hide AdIf you are due to be paid over the weekends of Friday, May 8, and Monday, May 25 you will be paid a day in advance.
Those due to be paid on Friday, May 8, Saturday, May 9, or Sunday, May 10, will be paid on Thursday, May 7, instead.
If you are due to be paid on Saturday, May 23, Sunday, May 24, or Monday, May 25, you will be paid on Friday, May 22.
Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
PIP is paid every four weeks.

Hide AdYour decision letter should tell you the date of your first payment and what day of the week you are normally paid on.
It would never normally fall on a weekend but may be scheduled for a Friday or Monday.
Those due to be paid on a Bank Holiday next month will be paid a day earlier.
Those due to be paid on Friday, May 8, will be paid on Thursday, May 7, and those due to be paid on Monday, May 25, will be paid on Friday, May 22.
Tax Credit

Hide AdTax Credits, such as Working Tax Credits, are normally paid every four weeks but can also be paid weekly.
In the event of a Bank Holiday, these payments will normally be made a day early – but not always.
According to Gov.uk if you were due to receive Tax Credits on May 8, you will be paid on May 7.
And if you were due to be paid on May 25, you will be paid on May 22.

Hide AdIf your payment is late, check the payment date on your award notice and contact your bank before calling HMRC.
You can call HMRC on 0345 300 3900 from 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday.
Child Benefit
Child Benefit is paid every four weeks on a Monday or Tuesday.
Some people so get Child Benefit paid weekly if they’re a single parent or in receipt of certain other benefits such as Income Support.

Since Child Benefit is only paid on a Monday or Tuesday, your payment will not be due on the first Bank Holiday of May.
If your payment is scheduled for the second Bank Holiday of the month - Monday, May 25, you will be paid on the week before on Friday, May 22.
