5. Sir Antony Gormley's Field for the British Isles, NGCA
There's still time to catch Sir Antony Gormley's Field for the British Isles exhibition at the NGCA within National Glass Centre. The Turner Prize-winning artwork comprises of 40,000 unique clay figures, representing a mass wave of humanity, and hasn’t been on view in the North East of England since 1996. It runs until September 25. Free tickets for ten-minute private viewings are available from the NGCA’s website – www.northerngalleryforcontemporaryart.org.uk. 6. Themed brunches, The Palm, Hylton Riverside

7. Birds of Prey displays, former Crowtree site
Birds of Prey displays are taking place on the former Crowtree site, opposite New Look, on August 28 from 10am to 4pm and August 30 from 10am to 4pm.
