Massive Dr Who collection goes up for auction in North East and here's a look at some of the lots
‘It’s full of character, nostalgia and real fun’
Dr Who fans have been alerted to a huge auction of memorabilia which will hit the North East in June.

Estimates of more than £34,000 have been put on the collection of items which will go under the hammer at Anderson & Garland auctioneers in Newcastle on Wednesday, June 10, from 10.

The work spans the history of the iconic BBC series from William Hartnell’s First Doctor through to Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor.
It includes original and replica props, costumes, monsters, artwork, signed memorabilia, action figures, games and extensive literature connected to the world of Doctor Who.
The sale is a collection of items which were amassed for years by a passionate and dedicated Doctor Who fan who has passed away.

Among the headline lots is a replica of the famous Doctor Who car “Bessie”, estimated at £4,000 to £6,000. The Siva Edwardian Tourer kit car has been modelled after the beloved vehicle associated with Jon Pertwee’s Third Doctor and carries the registration plate “WHO 244”, which is registered with the DVLA. The lot is accompanied by signed correspondence from Jon Pertwee and signed photographs of Colin Baker with the vehicle.

Another standout entry is a full-size licensed Dalek model by This Planet Earth Ltd, based on the design seen in Remembrance of the Daleks. Complete with its certificate of authenticity and signed paperwork, the imposing display piece is expected to achieve £400 to £600.
Collectors of vintage Doctor Who memorabilia will also be drawn to a rare 1965 Bell Toys “Astro Ray” Dalek Gun, complete with its original pictorial box, ray beam and darts, estimated at £300 to £500.
Hamish Trower, Auctioneer at Anderson & Garland, said: “This is a proper TARDIS of a collection—bigger, brighter and more exciting the more you look inside it. It’s been lovingly built over many years by a hugely enthusiastic Doctor Who fan, and it’s full of character, nostalgia and real fun. We’re delighted to be bringing it to auction, where we’re sure it will find a whole new universe of admirers.”
Public viewing for the auction will take place on Monday, June 8, from 10am until 3pm at Anderson House, Westerhope, Newcastle.
