From a hidden whisky lounge to Caribbean food, here’s a rundown of what exactly is in the development, which will be open seven days a week.
Once used to house working horses from the old North East Railway Co, the stables date back to 1884 and can be found at the bottom of Sheepfolds Industrial Estate in the shadow of the Stadium of Light.
5. Spey Snug
Spey Snug is a hidden gem at the site, tucked away to the right of the main stage behind Back of the Pit bar. It's a gentleman's club-style whisky and cigar lounge from Speyside Distillers, an artisan distillery in Scotland’s Cairngorm Mountains | Sunderland Echo
6. Deep North cabin
Get your coffee and doughnut fix at Deep North, one of two specially-built cabins at the site. They're designed to resemble a similar structure that would have stood in its place back in 1884 when the site was a working stables yard. Deep North has already built up a loyal following at its branches in Tynemouth and Newcastle. | Sunderland Echo
7. I Scream For Pizza
Specialising in New York-style pizza and soft serve ice cream, I Scream for Pizza is a retro Americana style pizza parlour next to the main stage. It's been brought to the city by the same people behind the branch on Newcastle's Quayside. | Sunderland Echo
8. The Hayloft and Bridle Path
The site also has multipurpose function and events space in The Hayloft and Bridle Path with views across the stables and along the River Wear. They can be hired for anything from business meetings to weddings. | Sunderland Echo
