Win charming afternoon tea for two at The Sweet Petite in Sunderland city centre
Itβs an afternoon tea that really hits the sweet spot. π°π₯β
It may be called The Sweet Petite, but thereβs nothing small about the afternoon teas which tower over the lace tablecloths at this charming bakery and tearoom.

Brought to the city by husband and wife team, Tommy and Laura Graham after they built up a following with their horse box trailer in lockdown, The Sweet Petite was one of the very first businesses to open its doors in the revived Mackieβs Corner.
Six years later, their bakery business is still going strong with its kaleidoscope of traybakes, cookies, cake jars, cheesecakes and more.
Set amongst the Parisian style-aesthetic of the shop, with its Victoriana-esque panelling, reclaimed vintage chairs and antique register, afternoon teas have proved one of the most popular features at the shop - and we have an afternoon tea for two to give away.
Whatβs included in the afternoon teas?

Served on an elaborate silver stand, with crystal-style tea drops, afternoon teas are bumper here - Iβd be impressed at anyone who can eat it all in one sitting. (Fortunately, you get as many cake boxes as you need to take home.)
Afternoon teas are themed with the seasons and the current version is A Taste of Italy, with future themes going live soon, including Great British afternoon tea, Halloween and a festive edition.
So what makes them so popular? Savouries arenβt an afterthought here and the top tier comes laden with prosciutto, mozzarella & pesto ciabatta and wedges of pancetta, leek and pecorino quiche.
Work you way down to the individual charcuterie board with cheese biscuits and butter which fight for space on the middle tier with lemon and ricotta scone, a nice alternative to the more obvious fruit scone, served with lemon curd and clotted cream
Of course the piece-de-resistance at this quaint bakery is the sweet treats on the final tier and this version of the afternoon tea comes with a pistachio eclair, stuffed with lashings of fresh cream, a fresh and moreish raspberry panna cotta, a decadent tiramisu cheesecake and bite-sized macarons.
Drinks-wise, unlimited pots of Yorkshire tea or coffee is included in the afternoon tea, however, you can bring your own bottle with no corkage fee.
The Fat Unicorn is just round the corner and ideal if youβre fancying a quality Prosecco or wine with your afternoon tea.
* Afternoon tea, priced Β£30pp, is served every Friday & Saturday at 12.45pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm and must be pre-booked.
