Mackem Bake Off: 14 of your home-made isolation pink slices from around the world

Those who’ve risen to the Mackem Bake Off challenge should be tickled pink by their efforts.

Last week author and artist Paul Swinney, whose work includes the Mackem Dictionary, published a recipe for pink slices on his social media channels and asked people to send in their versions of the classic Sunderland snack with the hashtag #MackemBakeOff.

He joins the SAFC branch liaison council who also put out a rallying call for people to have a go at pink slices, provided they already have the ingredients in the cupboard.

Even Fulwell73, the production company behind Sunderland ‘Til I Die, have got involved and have said that the best three pink slice creations sent to them by the time the second series drops on Netflix, on April 1, will win a pack of Fulwell73 DVDs.

We’ve rounded up some of our favourites, in no particular order.
