While the latter is a new Italian restaurant for the town, Namaste is turning up the heat with grill dishes and curries with a view.
Here’s a look around:
1. Turning up the heat
The new Indian restaurant and bar is the latest from Sunderland businessman Razz Ahmed, who is adding this Seaham venue to his portfolio of Namastes in South Shields, Gateshead and Sunderland. | Sunderland Echo
2. New wave
There’s been a flurry of food and drink activity in Seaham of late. Recently, By the Wave Deli opened its doors within Seaham Waves Studio in South Crescent. Back on North Terrace, the former Armoury bar, next door to Namaste, opens as Dolce Vita on April 29. And further down the street, The Train Line, which has already built up a following at Seaburn Train Station, says the vinyls on the windows will be coming down soon as it unveils its dessert and cake offering. | Sunderland Echo
3. Live music
As the night unfolds, the restaurant will transform into a livelier bar with live music at the weekends. | Sunderland Echo
4. Turning the Tide
It was friends who encouraged Razz to come and check out the location – which was formerly Tide restaurant – as a potential Prosecco lounge venue. “It’s got a nice view, and it will offer something different on the seafront,” says Razz. “It will be somewhere to come and enjoy a meal, a good night and a great vibe. It’s a lovely intimate place. It’s a 55-60 seater venue, which makes it cosy.” | Sunderland Echo
