Sunderland is home to plenty of Italian restaurants, but where’s your favourite?

From a new addition to the city to meals with a view, here’s the top 10-rated Italian restaurants according to Trip Advisor reviews.

A previous winner of our Sunderland Echo Best Italian Restaurant award, Signatures in Wynyard Street, Silksworth also makes it into the top 10 on Trip Advisor. "Went tonight for the 1st time...lovely bar and restaurant setting....servers amazing attentive but not overpowering...and very speedy..food was utterly delicious..we will definitely be returning," said one diner.

With one of the best views in the city, Marina Vista in Roker Marina is an SR6 favourite. One diner wrote: "Recommended on TripAdvisor, the Marina Vista Restaurant lived up to all the 5 stars! Delicious food & a relaxing atmosphere with lovely views of the water. The staff were friendly and checked several times to see if everything was OK. The food was plentiful and tasted divine, penne pasta cooked al dente and loads of King Prawns & shrimps in my dish. We also ordered the calabrese pasta which tasted very fresh and was a large portion. We will be back for sure!!!!"
