5. Grindon Mill, Grindon
A pub for decades, it was a sad day when Grindon Mill pulled its last pints. Popular for its pub grub, you could pick up dishes including the Grindon Mill Dip. | Sunderland Echo
6. La Familia restaurant, Ship Isis, Silksworth Row
A few restaurants have tried to make a go of it in the upstairs room at Ship Isis, including Italian restaurant La Familia, Burnett's and Papa's Tapas. 7. Mowbray Park Hotel restaurant and cocktail lounge, Burdon Road
Once one of the city's finest hotels, the restaurant and bar at Mowbray Park Hotel was the place to be. Today the building is flats and a ground floor restaurant. | Sunderland Echo
8. Binns Restaurant, Fawcett Street
